At Reynard Farm we raise kid friendly Welsh/Welsh cross ponies & occasionally Warmblood Thoroughbred crosses. We also raise top quality, super disposition, JRTCA Jack Russells, who enjoy running on the farm. One or two health tested litters from top bloodlines are planned per year. Jack Russells need to be an integral member of the family. They love activity and need to be in the middle of it or they will choose to be the star! Not the dog for you if you want a dog that lounges around and obeys unquestioningly. They ARE highly intelligent and trainable...as long as you are smarter than they are! As much as they need exercise, they do tend to be cuddly and quiet in the house for down time.

Don't be fooled. The 'real' Jack Russell is a proportional dog. NOT a 'shorti' which are achondropladtic dwarfs, like the Dachshund. Refer to the JRTCA website at www.terrier.com for everything you need to know about this breed.

The Breed
Jack Russells were developed to be hunters and ratters. They are used to flush out quarry from underground. The word terrier comes from the Latin 'Terra' meaning earth. They love disappearing down tunnels and tend to be diggers. They have a tendency to chase small furry creatures. I don't need a barn cat. My dogs do the job of keeping the barn clear of vermin.
